today i tried to explain to the dogs that we will be moving, and you will have a nice new house to play in, with a nice new garden to poop in, etc etc etc.
unfortunately they didn’t seem very interested.
must try again tomorrow.
anyways, this may be my last post for awhile, since i’m moving on monday (it is saturday), and leaving my computer here, where there is a PHONE LINE (are you listening, useless TM/streamyx people, you useless whores you)…
ahem. pardon my french. (you’re right…i can’t live without internet, so sad…)
ANYWAY…
check this thing out! i initially thought it was a small crocodile (cos i saw it from far away,ok!!)
saw it crossing the road at the end of my row of houses, so we drove closer and i bravely went down to take a picture (it crawled into one of the empty houses)…
and then it turned towards me so obviously i ran away screaming like a girl. which i am. i mean. obviously that was the right thing to do.
(finally the security guard came and chased it away)
it has to be a big picture (cos i took it from quite far away), so please please wait for it to load, it’s so cool cos i’ve never seen one before! (yes, i am very ulu, why are you surprised..)
apparently it is called a biawak
i call it the big-ass lizard!

i think the Great Gods of Packinghamshire have something against me. what else would explain the fact that i’ve been packing for 3 days now, and yet haven’t actually packed anything? is it my fault i have so many interesting things to pack? NO! i can’t help but stop to examine all the wonderrrrfulllll things i never knew i had. actually it’s probably some kind of familial trait. my dad observes… you know, i just don’t understand…people have ONE, we have TEN….look,look at this…(points to swivelly chair…not that far off, we actually have 5…) which is TRUE, my mother has collections of absolutely everything, especially plastic containers, so maybe THAT is why i obsessively it is in my GENES. are you reading this mum??? OR… maybe it’s a great cosmic joke. Great Gods of Packinghamshire: OOOOHHH….let’s just put funny things all over the place so she’ll never finish! ahahahahaha! are you afraid now? do you just wish you NEVER knew me, SLOB THAT I AM? Crazy Firsts
it is: friday.
i have:
- watched The Wedding Date (again)
- found out i have too many books for my own good
- fallen in love with a pair of shoes (nothing new there)
- made a total of 6 phone calls to the telephone company, since they’ve cleverly cancelled my broadband (i’m on dial up now, for the love of God)
- had my insides squished. which is a nice word.
on the upside, i have:
- not actually bought any shoes (but i will, if they’re still there, cross your fingers!)
- cleared 2 bookcases.
- and i can’t think of anything else.
most importantly, today i learned that making yourself the first and foremost priority in your life is sometimes the best thing you can do. maybe it’s a self preservation thing, i don’t know. but at some point or other, this is the best way to go on.
someone i know would say this is selfish, and i agree, it is. it is selfish, self-centred and narcissistic.
but i’m also very tired- it’s like trying to empty a lake by drinking the water, cup by cup. granted, this is a dramatic analogy but my point is…
i’m tired of fighting a battle i don’t know for sure i can win.
i’m tired of fighting for something that i no longer think is worth it, although i should have known it wasn’t anyway.
i’m just…tired.
for maybe the first time, in a long time…i’m enjoying the nothingness.
sometimes, really…the best thing…is just…nothing.
moving on now,people…
State of Denial
decided to potter about the shoe cupboard today,and guess what i found!
well.obviously i knew i had them.
it’s just i temporarily forgot…

If I Found The Right Words To Say
i am in a shoey mood today
(but i went out to 2 shoe sales and didn't buy anything…so proud of myself…)
and then i went and ate 6 pot stickers,followed by mint-chocolate chip ice-cream and washed it down with a carribean cocktail (sounds cool,doesn't it?but it's just bananas and mangoes and some other fruit things) and then i began to feel a little sick.
and THEN…
met up with the extended family for dinner.

and then i came home and was kind of bored.
so i decided to fiddle around with photobucket.
all in all,another excellent day
except there's something on my mind.
you know what it is.
but let's not talk about that.
the thing about knowing what to do is that
every second you're not doing what you're not supposed to do…
blows.
and you watch helplessly as history repeats itself
and you tell yourself
the only thing that can and will change things
is time.

It’s Beginning To Get To Me
Have you ever had a dream in which everything was just..right?…
I was lost, but strangely enough happy to be lost…because.
And then i wake up and the overwhelming silence fills the room again.

i’m so incredibly unmotivated to do anything….which is to say…i have too many things to do,and it feels like i’ll never finish so WHY START!!!
okay,that’s not the point,i know…
things i must do by this weekend:
Put clothes and books into boxes, as they are now lying in piles and plastic carrier bags all over the floor.
And once i’ve put them away maybe the floor can finally be mopped…God knows it’s been awhile since that last happened…
Find toys and put into boxes.
Put other junk into boxes.
in all honesty, by the end of this week all i would have done is:
Gone shopping (I deserve it!!)
Watched a movie (waiting for Blood Diamond to come out…)
Rearranged the piles of things on my floor….so i can walk,you understand…
And that’s about it.
Hah. So much for multitasking.
I’m moving out at the end of the month, to an area with NO PHONE LINES!haha…so thinking of leaving my computer here,in this nice nice house where there are phone lines and internet and which doesn’t smell like cement all the time.
I’ve lived here for 10 years (and 1 month) now…so basically this is where i grew up.
A lot of happy things happened while i’ve lived here, and yet also a lot of things in the past,and not so distant past that i’d rather just leave behind.
As long as I learn from it,right?
Fool me once, shame on you.

I actually like Samantha’s (from Sex and the City) version better, but that story’s for another day….
